DU MAY 2015 CHALLENGE *CLOSED*

Each month, there will be a specific art challenge that will test our skills as an artist and provide creative illustrations of our DU characters. The challenges will range from fan art, to art jams, to crossovers, contests and more. While the challenges are not mandatory, I encourage everyone who is a DU member and who has an OC entry in the DU to take part. The challenges can only be done by users who have a Deviant Universe entry. The entries will be displayed in the associated Deviant Universe gallery folder for all to see. Make sure to follow the guidelines and have fun!

MAY CHALLENGE:

DU Presents #4 - Each year, I introduce a new 'DU Presents' challenge, and each year, the theme is different. What are we doing this time? Well, while our heroes normally get the spotlight, I think it's time for our villains to come out and play! Our DU heroes are going to take a much deserved break this month, as we focus our attention to DU's villains. After all, without villains, our heroes wouldn't have much to do! So let us learn more about our villains by exploring what makes them tick. Who are they exactly? What makes them so dangerous and evil? Why do they do what they do? What sinister plans do they have set in motion?  Maybe now would be a good time to explain your villains role in the DU or plan their next scheme that your hero must eventually face! Whatever option you choose is up to you...

The Guidelines for this challenge are as follows:

1) Choose any Villain (or Villains) in the Deviant Universe that YOU have created.
2) Create a story-based entry that focuses on your villain. Perhaps they are setting in motion plans to rule the world, or planning to capture your hero, or waiting to trigger a massive bomb at a certain unknown location! Whatever it is, use this month to plan a story you want to continue in the future, or explore more of your villains back-story.
3) No Heroes are allowed this month. The focus is solely on your villain.
4) You may work independently if working alone, or with another artist (or group of artists) if your villains are teaming up. Also might be a good time for the DU Villain teams (Dark Legion, End Game, Collective) to plan something together.
5) Illustrate up to 4 comic style pages.
6) Link all your pages together in the description for easy reading.
7) Images must be in color.
8) Only characters in the DU Villains galleries can be used. No copyrighted characters allowed.
9) Place a thumbnail or link of each character used in the description section.
10) Note me with your completed entry so I can add it to the Gallery. Incomplete entries will not be accepted.
11) Deadline is May 31 (10:00 PM EST).
